back in action

I'm sorry I've been so absent but we were away in Nova Scotia sans computer. Now I'm back and fully recharged (sort of) after spending 6 days with my in-laws, nieces and nephew in beautiful Lunenburg, NS.

What is usually a pretty chill getaway was a hectic week filled with the demands of the ever-so charming ankle-biters. I must say I do adore them. The kids were the main attraction and I was happy to entertain since I don't get to see them very often. These are a few of my favourite moments:

  • Hearing their giddy laughter
  • Reading and a cuddle on the couch
  • Making sand castles and playing on the beach
  • Listening to their little voices and answering their questions
  • Seeing them smile
  • Watching  fireworks

Looking forward to more visits!

h is for halifax

The hubs and I are off to beautiful Nova Scotia for some fun in the sun and good quality family time.

Really looking forward to the trip and especially some lobster (yum!) with lots of butter.

If you've never been to Halifax and surrounding regions  here is what we recommend:

Halifax:

  1. Shopping on Spring Garden Road
  2. Lunch in the Hydrostone Market (great yarn stores as well)
  3. Run in Point Pleasant Park
  4. Beer on the patio at the Lower Deck
  5. Walk along the waterfront

Surrounding areas:

  1. Whale watching in Digby (amazing whales and the best scallops you've ever tasted)
  2. Lunenberg (cute shops, yummy ice cream, golf, lobster fishing, tour of the Bluenose and beaches)
  3. Catch the surf at Hirtles Beach
