i found my boots

Sometimes buying a new pair of shoes is all it takes to make your day (I know superficial but whatevah!).

I spotted these Sanita clog boots in the window of Heel Boy today and decided right then and there that I had to have them. Little did I know that Sanita has been making shoes since 1907.

The Alison boot is made with butter soft leather (also come in white, brown and grey), the sole and foot bed are made from wood and they can be worn folded up or down.

What do you think?

for her

I LOVE this TNA Military Shirt. If you've got a gal on your xmas shopping list that likes this look snap one up and put it under the tree.

This one has all of the qualities of the vintage military shirt but it fits! TNA treated it with a special wash so it has the feel of old, but looks like new.

$65 at Aritzia.

You're welcome!

goose down

I've had so many compliments on my winter parka that I thought I would share for all you preggers out there. Since we're having a February baby a large winter coat is a must-have, but of course I didn't want to invest much money and didn't want to look super frumpy.

Fortunately I found just what I was looking for at Joe Fresh! It's a military green down parka with a removable fur trimmed hood (on-trend and cheap!) and it only cost $79. I was sold as soon as I saw it and bought a Large knowing I needed something for my belly to grow into. It's super warm and looks almost as good as the pricier down jackets out there. I will definitely be warm and dry on those -20C mornings. Thank you Joe Fresh!

If you're having a winter baby and need a jacket that will keep you warm get your butt to Joe Fresh before they're all gone.

ankle socks with heels

I'm sorry but I'm just not down with this trend. Sure it looks great on the stick thin models we see gracing the fashion mags and runways, but when us regular Betty's start sporting the look with our short legs, big calves, you name it, it's really a bad look!

All you fashionistas can scoff at me all you want, but trust (I'm just trying to help), this trend is going to come back to bite you in the ass. I say stick with ankle boots but if you must follow suit here are some tips to do it right (that's right, I'm giving fashion advice):

  • stick with sock colours that contrasts with your shoes
  • make sure the socks hit just above the ankle this gives the illusion of long, lean legs (but really only if you have the gangly legs)
  • tone it down with straight forward pieces (crazy feet means simple/clean look on top)

Good luck!
