make it yourself
Who needs this little fella when you can make it even better yourself. Here is an easy recipe for Cheese Biscuits from my fave cookbook Grazing by Julie Van Rosendaal. Make a dozen and freeze six for another night. Trust me they taste way better and they're good for you.
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup oil
- 1 cup grated cheese (any type of cheese works)
- 1 cup buttermilk (I never have buttermilk so I mix 1 tbsp vinegar with 1 cup of milk and let sit for 5 mins)
Pat the dough out on a floured surface and cut into circles (I use the rim of pint glass to cut out the circles), throw them on a cookie sheet and bake for 10-13 minutes at 450F. Makes a dozen.
